Currently my favorite Italian place in the city. The ricotta appetizer with honey and sea salt and pepper is a winner, as was the pizza with prosciutto, figs, and gorgonzola (a hit even though I despise gorgonzola, so they get extra points for that). It can get very crowded and generate long waits (presumably both because it is good and because of its central Wicker Park location). The bread they put on the table is excellent (wonder where it comes from?) and the wine list was judged adequate by my sister who used to work in wineries in Napa. One thing to watch out for - the room can get loud. So while this isn’t a bad date location, keep that in mind. Although I prefer Forno for dinner, they serve a nice brunch as well, with a strength in egg dishes.
